Age of Discovery or Exploration in Ottomans

What that in mind, We all automatically connect it to events like Europeans discovering new areas. Extracting resources from there, and bringing them to Europe. And of course, doing this is quite normal. Because almost all the names that come up with this world are Europeans. During this time two new continents were discovered. That was controlled only by Europeans. But in the 1400s to 1600s, when the "Age of Discovery" was happening. There was a much more powerful empire than the Europeans

"The Mighty OTTOMAN EMPIRE".

why there is no sign of the most powerful empire in the world at that time on these newly discovered continuens?
In simple words, why the Ottomans didn't build their colony in different corners of all over the world at this time like other European countries?

Many historians today think that. Muslim Ottomans may not have been as curious as Christian Europeans.and this way they want to make Europeans look loke a Superior nation by showing them extra curiosity but that was not the case at all.in Ottomans did in the "Age of discovery" & why they did not build "oversea territory" or colonies like the Europeans.

.So hello i am habib e bishal.. We'll come to my website..

Age of Discovery like in the eyes of the Ottomans..

From the need to maintain east tern contact with the west, (1498) the Portuguese were the First Europeans to find their way to India. Their goal is to bring spices from the former Spice Island to the European market to become rich. Before the Portuguese , this spice entered Europe i tow ways.
One route is the ancient silk road, vai Istanbul to Europe. The other is the ship sent by the Mamluk Sultanate tovthe red sea, Frist to cairo and then acroos the Mediterranean to Venice and then across Europe. The Portuguese, on the other hand, have been attacking Mamluk ships in the last part of the Red sea, Hoping to gain sole dominance by sea, since they crossed South Africa and found India. And the Mamluk also began to suffer greatly. That's why almost a decided after the Portuguese found India.

sultan the first Selim attacked the Mamluk sultanate.

The Mamluk Sultanate suffered financially from new rivalries over their main source of income. Ottoman sultan Selim the first to take advantage of this opportunity. think about the Ottoman once. They only trade route with their East was the ancient silk road, wich lots of its effectiveness during this period. Moreover, it is much more profitable to trade by sea than by Iand. As it takes less time. That is why the Ottomans always focused on controlling a port in the Indian ocean. When the Mamluks became financially weak Sultan Selim got this opportunity. He invaded the mamluks in 1516. & overthrew the Mamluk sultanate by concurring the capital Cairo in 1517. At the same time, he took control of the three holy cities of Islam, Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem.
Since this year.but that's the same year, before the conquest of mecca, the Portuguese laid siege to the port of jeddah,& where the ottomans and the Portuguese fought. from this time on, there was a tendency among the ottomans to know or control the whole world. At that time Piri Reis presented the sultan with the finest map of the world at that time. After the date of Sultan Selim in 1520, Sultan Suleiman ascended the throne. Suleiman the Magnificent.

He came and understood the importance of protecting the cities of Mecca and Madina. Earlier, once the Portuguese had laid siege to Jeddah, it though that if they attacked again, they might center these two holy cities. This why Selman raise was sent from Egypt in 1525 to occupy Yemen.
Which is on the very border of the Arabian peninsula.so that
If the Portuguese attacked, they would be stopped before they could reach near Mecca or Medina. Although the Ottomans did not take control of the whole of Yemen in 1527, the Ottomans established several ports here. And although Aden, Yemen's largest city, is autonomous. They are loyal to the Ottoman Sultan. It almost eliminated the Portuguese invasion of the Red sea a few years ago, which hindered the trade of the Mamluk Sultanate. Although the Mamluks where no longer the rulers of the region. The Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans wher also hindered in the spice trade due to the establishment of the Portuguese "Estado Da indian in the various major ports of the East, even though they took control of the red sea. This why the Ottomans helped the Muslim sultans of Gujrat at that time with ship and sailors in the war against the Portuguese.

Why did not Ottoman establish Colony?

First of all, they didn't have to. Because you see, religion had a pic role to play in the middle ages trade. however, several Muslim empires had sprung up in India and in the islands of Indonesia and its environs. that is why Ottoman merchants could regularly trade spices and other thing with theses empires without any hassle. Moreover, the ottomans have always had good relations with china, having previously been associated whit the silk road. But the Europeans where
completely new to the area.n.there was no large christian empire in the area.thats why European traders where always
a hindrance in dealing with local traders. That's why they formed different companies & set up colonies and focused
on propagating religion there.

That's about the east, but since the west was a continent discovered by then, why didn't the Ottomans build a colony there? This is also a question. There are two debates among historians about it. One of which was that the Ottomans had such good communication and trade with the east that they had no need to look to their continental possessions in the west. The first reason is that the people have less reason to sacrifice. The second reason is that the Ottomans were geographically behind to campaign in the west. Most of the European countries established colonies in their various locations, all with direct access to the North Atlantic Ocean. But even though the Ottoman Empire was the biggest empire among them, they had to cross the Mediterranean Sea and go down to the Atlantic Ocean.

in between Another option was to visit South Africa.  Winning is a long way.  And there was an influx of Europeans.  Due to this, many sultans at different times tried to expand their territory further west.  But Morocco never became that because of the Spanish or the Portuguese. That is, firstly, they were getting enough profit from the eastern trade, and secondly, the Ottomans could not establish any colonies due to the geographical location.  But this does not mean that the Ottomans never visited or set foot in the Western Continent.

Documents left at PIRI REIS suggest he set foot at least three times.  The Ottomans also sailed occasionally to the Central American islands.  However, they never got there in numbers to take control.  Now let me clear up some of the misconceptions behind not colonizing the Ottomans among Europeans.  The first reason is that the Ottomans were less curious about the world and less interested in new people.  First of all, it is not my opinion that British historian March David Baer thinks it is wrong.  He wrote in his personal book published around 2021 that the Europeans did not discover the new continent out of curiosity, but because they could not force the Ottomans, they were forced to establish new colonies. Apart from that, the Ottomans were no less curious about the new world.

While the Ottomans were spying.

Ottoman cartographers a like Collected hand drawn maps of various regions like Christopher Columbus & Ferdiant Meglan.  The proof of which is the map of PIRI REIS.  Also all the time Ottoman secret thieves stayed in Portugal and Spain and from there brought news of the New World.  Another common misconception is that the Ottomans , being Muslim, had less contact with people of other religions and at that time were lagging behind Europeans.  This is also a big misconception.  Even Martivity himself mentioned a pod cast after long research. Ottoman merchants would permanently stay in major Christian places like Venice for business purposes. Moreover, the Ottoman Empire always accommodated skilled and knowledgeable people expelled from other states.  So the concept of not mixing with other religions because of being a Muslim is completely wrong.  Another common misconception is that the Ottomans were not that powerful at sea.  How big a mistake this idea is, you can only understand the history of people like PIRI REIS, YUSUF RAISE, KEMAL RAISE, etc.
